St. Peter FIRST LEGO League
The St. Peter FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is a robotics program where students create and assemble a tiny robot with legos. The program is designed to give students hands-on experience with technology, while teaching them important life skills. Students work together as a team, both assembling, programming, and designing their robot. The students are presented with a theme, which is essentially a problem to overcome. They must work together to create a solution to this problem by programming the robot with the procedures to safely navigate through the obstacle course. The robot's design and performance along with the teams presentation on the problem and a measure of their teamwork will determine their success in the competitions.During the months of September – December students in grades 5-8 have the opportunity to work together on this team building extra curricular activity. The team will meet several times per week to prepare for competitions at the state and nation-wide level. A limited number of spots are available for this team so commitment to the team is stressed.
